The moat of Lichtenstein Castle, in Baden-Wuttermberg, Germany, as seen outside the main gate. The castle was built between 1840-42, by Duke Wilhelm of Urach, Count of Wurttemberg. The neo-gothic design of the castle was conceived by architect Carl Alexander Heideloff, and follows two previous castles constructed in the middle ages, and destroyed in local warfare.
