Johnson Fruit Orchard - Capitol Reef National Park - Fruita, Utah

One of the unique aspects of Capitol Reef National Park is the continuation of the historic farming activities of the small town of Fruita within the main valley of the park. As the name of the town suggests, a primary activity was fruit growing, and today a number of orchards and varieties of fruit are grown and harvested each year. These include cherry, pear, apple, apricot, and peach trees that tourists are free to collect fruit from when they are ripe.
